Runar has been running the New York City Marathon 41 times, each year since his debut in 1978. That time it was 9,875 starters. Only 4 runners have run it more times in the history of the race. Runar’s best Marathon time is 2:32:31. His best time in New York is 2:46:18. He has had Achilles surgery 9 times from 1984 to 2014. Runar also had back surgery in 2015 and knee surgery in 2016 and 2017. He also got his knee replaced 3 months back, and we wish him a good run at this years NYC Marathon!
